About St. Timothy's

Founded in 1892 as a Sunday School for the children of Arsenal Hill and third-oldest Episcopal Church in Columbia, the original chapel was destroyed by fire in 1912. The cornerstone for the current Gothic-style church was laid in 1913. The sanctuary contains stained glass windows created by Mayer Studios in Munich, Germany.

Today, St. Timothy's is a diverse, welcoming congregation that strives to model Christ's love in all its actions, both within our church family and to the wider community.

St. Timothy's is a member of the Diocese of Upper South Carolina, which is part of The Episcopal Church. The Episcopal Church is a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion.
